Clinical Observation of Cervical Spondylosis Treated with Acupuncture and Maitland Manipulation
To observe therapeutic effect of acupuncture plus Maitland manipulation on root type of cervical spondylosis. Method:63 patients with root type of cervical spondylosis were randomly classified into the two groups, the contrast one (acupuncture treatment) and the treatment group ( acupuncture treatment plus Maitland manipulation) The former one was employed with acupuncture and general clinical care,and the later one was given acupuncture and Maitland manipulation. Treatment frequency of acupuncture and manipulation:1T/2d. Clinical effect was assessed with Pain Rating in Digital and Neck Disability Index (NDI) for therapeutic effect judging. Result: After 2 courses, compared with the contrast group, the treatment one was better than the contrast group in reducing pain and improving cervical vertebral function(P<0.01, P<0.05 respectively).Conclusion:Acupuncture plus Maitland manipulation could efficiently increase the effect of cervical spondylosis.
