A glossy ganoderma-borer,Xylographus bostrichoides(Dufour,1843),was intercepted firstly at Mengla port of Yunnan in dried fruiting bodies of Ganodorma lucidum,a famous Chinese medicinal macrofungi,brought by cross-boundary passenger from Laos.The morphological characteristics of adult,host plants,distribution are provided.The morphological characteristics of male genitalia and its secondary sexual traits on vertex are also described for diagnostic supportion on this pest at other qurantine ports of China.
