The value of cranial ultrasound in detecting blood flow parameters of the middle cerebral artery and the douglas artery in assessing the condition of neonates with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy
Objective:Investigating the value of cranial ultrasound in detecting blood flow parameters of the middle cerebral ar-tery and the douglas artery in assessing the condition of neonates with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy. Methods:Sixty cases each were taken from the newborns with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy diagnosed and healthy newborns delivered in our hos-pital from March 2021 to May 2023 as the subjects of this study, respectively, and were named as the case group and the con-trol group, respectively, and the two groups were subjected to cranial ultrasonography to obtain the blood flow parameters of the middle cerebral artery and the doudoune arteries at 24 h,48 h,and 72 h after birth. The case group was divided into mild group, moderate group, and severe group according to the seriousness of the disease, and the effectiveness of using ROC curve analysis to diagnose hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy and evaluate the severity of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy by analyzing blood flow parameters of the middle cerebral artery and lenticular artery. Results:The Vs and Vd of the middle cerebral artery and the bean-stripe artery at 24 h,48 h and 72 h after birth were slower in the case group than in the control group, and the RI than in the control group(P<0.05).The differences in Vs,Vd and RI of the middle cerebral artery and arterioles at 24 h,48 h and 72 h after birth were statistically significant in the case group with different severity of the disease(P<0.05).The ROC curve analysis showed that the blood flow parameters of the middle cerebral artery and arterioles were effective in the di-agnosis of hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy and in the assessment of the severity of hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy(P<0.05).Conclusion:Craniocerebral ultrasound detection of blood flow parameters of middle cerebral artery and lentistriate ar-tery has good diagnostic efficacy in the diagnosis and severity assessment of neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, and can be used as a basis for the evaluation of neonatal neurobehavioral developmental abnormalities.
