The application of Mini-CEX based clinical reality teaching mode in nursing students in emergency ICU and its influence on their comprehensive thinking ability
Objective:To explore the application of clinical reality teaching model based on Mini-clinical Exercise Assessment(Mini-CEX)in the teaching of nursing students in emergency ICU and its influence on their comprehensive thinking ability.Methods A total of 80 nursing students admitted to the emergency ICU from July 2021 to June 2023 were selected and divided into control group(n=40,July 2021 to June 2022)and observation group(n=40,July 2022 to June 2023)with the implemen-tation time of Mini-CEX as the cut-off point(July 2022).The control group received routine nursing teaching,and the observa-tion group received Mini-CEX based clinical reality teaching.The scores of ICU nursing skills assessment,Core Ability Scale(CINS)score,Critical Thinking Ability Scale(CTDI-CV)score,comprehensive ability score and Mini-CEX score were com-pared between the two groups.Results The results of cardiopulmonary resuscitation,sputum aspiration,defibrillation,balloon technique and arterial blood gas collection in observation group were higher than those in control group(P<0.05).The CINS and CTDI-CV scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group at the end of practice(P<0.05).The scores of all dimensions of comprehensive ability and Mini-CE scores of nursing students in observation group were higher than those in control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The Mini-CEX based clinical reality teaching model can improve the nurs-ing skills assessment,core ability,thinking ability and comprehensive nursing ability of nursing students in emergency ICU.
