Auxin response factors (ARFs) are key regulator in plant growth and development. With participation of primary/early auxin response proteins (Aux/IAAs), ARFs bind specially to TGTCTC-containing auxin response elements (AuxREs) found in promotors of primary/early auxin response genes. In recent years, the molecular structure of auxin response factors, interaction of ARF and Aux/IAA, their function in plant growth and development, target genes for ARF transcription factors and molecular mechanisms involved in ARFs' regulation of gene expression in Arabidopsis and rice were focused on and illuminated by many research papers.
