We studied on the physiological mechanism of different Lilium seedlings under low temperature stress, used 12 market popular commercial varieties and 2 wild species lilies as experimental materials. By variance analysis and subordinate function analysis of variations in SOD activities, POD activities, CAT activities, proline contents, relative electric conductivities, MDA contents of lily seedlings under low temperature stress, a comprehensive evaluation of cold resistance had been made. The results showed that cold resistance mecha-nism of plants was a complex physiological and biochemical processes, the strength of their cold resistance was controlled by complex factors, rather than a single factor. The strength of cold resistance in the order was:‘Janna’>‘Robinna’>‘Siberia’>‘Yellow Ween’>‘Montde Marsan’>L. davidii var unicolor>L. regale>‘White Fox’>‘Snow Queen’>‘Royal Sunset’>‘Royal Song’>‘Ceb Glow’>‘Lyon’>‘Brunello’. There were big differences of cold resistance between different varieties (species) of lily. However, the differences of cold resistance between different series were small.
