Common effect of pigment content and leaf structure on leaf color inActinidia kolomikta
Coloring reason of variegated leaves inActinidia kolomikta was studied on the base of leaf structure and spectrum characteristics. The results showed: (1) Although variegated leaf color (white and pink) have sig-niifcantly differed with green leaf, chlorophyll content of variegated leaf still retained higher level; (2) All kind of variegated leaves had no special leaf epidermis structure, but their mesophyll cells were loose, and structure difference of variegated and green leaf was very greatly; (3) White leaf relfected more red, green and blue light, but pink leaf relfected more red light. In addition, relfectance rate of variegated leaves in adaxial and abaxial surface also exit difference. In conclusion, white leaves were not the result of chlorophyll deifciency, it may be due to internal relfection structure; pink leaves were due to anthocyanin accumulation, and leaf structure may also affect leaf color to some degree.
