Research on the Extraction and Design Transformation of Architectural Elements in Ancient Villages——A Case Study of the Ancient Houses in Diaoyuan Village,Ji'an
Taking the ancient houses in Diaoyuan Village,Ji'an as an example, this paper delves into the extraction and design transformation of architectural elements in ancient villages.Firstly,it identifies and classifies the traditional Chinese architectural elements in the ancient villages, such as the horse-head wall, enclosed courtyards, bright red doors, and carved lattice windows. Then, using semiotic theory, this paper explains these elements and reveals the historical and cultural significance behind them.In the process of element extraction, the research follows the standards of respecting the original condition, emphasizing the representativeness and sustainability of elements.Subsequently, the paper proposes transformation strategies for modernizing traditional elements, including abstraction and simplification, structural reconfiguration, metaphorical representation, and technological advancements in raw materials. These strategies aim to achieve the integration of ancient architectural culture with modernist design, providing new inspirations and core concepts for contemporary architectural design.
