White space refers to the artistic creation of painting and calligraphy,in order to make the whole work picture and chapter more coordinated and exquisite and intentionally leave the corresponding blank.As one of the important manifestations of traditional Chinese painting art,it is not only widely used in painting,but also has new exhibitions in design,sculpture,poetry and other fields.This paper first briefly talks about white space from the perspective of aesthetic significance,and then introduces the two characteristics of white space.Second,through the Chinese painting"cold river alone fishing figure""li bai"and animation"father and female"and the monk and the four specific cases,respectively,the two characteristics of the white in which,combined with two characteristics to analyze the blank in the role of animation scene,characters,and bring to the viewer.Finally,with the work Black and White as the main case,it discusses the effect of the blank space in black and white,so as to achieve the purpose of creating a suspense atmosphere in the animation,narrowing the distance between the protagonist and the audience and stimulating the imagination of the audience.
