The art of making needles in Dayang,Shanxi Province,serves as a valuable heritage of traditional Chinese handmade needle-making techniques,embodying profound historical roots and distinctive craftsmanship.Nevertheless,amidst the vigorous development of modern production technologies and the continuous evolution of social demands,the art of making needles in Dayang faces severe challenges in its inheritance and protection.This research endeavors to meticulously trace its historical origins,development,and evolution through a combined approach of field investigations and literature studies,while deeply analyzing the traditional craftsmanship characteristics of this art.Starting from the dilemma of its inheritance,the study examines multiple issues,including insufficient inheritance forces,sluggish market demand,unfavorable living environments,and a lack of innovation.Furthermore,corresponding strategies for living inheritance are proposed.It is anticipated that the promotion and implementation of this research will effectively contribute to the inheritance and protection of this precious cultural heritage of needle-making techniques in Dayang,Shanxi Province.
