A Brief Analysis of the Visual Expression of Formal Language in Postmodernism
The emergence and development of postmodernism are rooted,on the one hand,in industrial and mechanical civilization,and on the other hand,in people's return to art itself.Compared to modernism,the diversification,contingency,and temporality of postmodernism have propelled the progress of art.Drawing on postmodernism as the theoretical foundation,this paper delves into the formal linguistic characteristics of postmodernism and,in conjunction with the relationship between"form"and"formal beauty,"provides a comprehensive exposition of the visual expression of formal language in postmodernism.Postmodernism confronts the fixed conventions of form through formal play,presenting artistic works as entirely new forms of visual-perceptual art.
