Chinese landscape painting has a long history, mainly depicting the natural landscape as the object. The initial prototype can be traced back to the period of Wei,Jin,and North and South Dynasties, however,at that time,it was not yet completely independent from the figure painting, and it was only through the continuous development of successive dynasties that it gradually took the landscape as the main subject matter.Although there are similarities in the content of landscape paintings, the landscape paintings of the Five Dynasties period mainly depicted natural scenery of mountains and rivers, inherited the tradition of the Tang Dynasty, and flourished in the social environment of frequent wars and turmoil, forming a painting style rich in the characteristics of the times. So far,the wisdom of the Five Dynasties period is still inherited in landscape painting.
