Study on Measurement and Prediction of Residual Stress on Tooth Surface of Forming Grinding Gear
Forming gear grinding is usually the last process of gear cutting, and the residual stress on the tooth surface after grinding has a significant effect on the service performance and life of the gear. The traditional measurement method of residual stress of gear based on X-ray diffraction method does not consider the special geometric characteristics of the tooth surface, resulting in low measurement accuracy. In addition, the influence of grinding process parameters and tooth surface state before grinding on residual stress of tooth grinding are unclear. Therefore, this paper proposes a measurement method for residual stress and auxiliary fixture considering the special geometric characteristics of gears, and establishes the residual stress prediction model of tooth surface based on grinding process parameters. Finally, the influence of residual stress before grinding on residual stress after grinding of tooth surface is discussed. In this paper,a new method for the measurement of non-planar residual stress is proposed. The proposed method for the residual stress prediction of tooth surface can be adopted to guide the actual production.
