The Western Logic and Chinese Rewriting of Modern Civilization:From A Perspective of Modernization
Modernization has its beginning in Europe.Western modern civilization takes capital as the axis of modernity,and has gained a strong dominance in certain ages of world history.While western modern civilization has brought success and progress,it has also come up with costs and setbacks.The rewriting of modern civilization has risen to a principle issue of self-salvation of human beings.China is a great nation with its unique fate,conditions and cultural context,which predetermines that"Western ways of modernization"and"Western logic of modern civilization"do not work in China,so we can only"follow our own path".After struggling for a century,the Communist Party of China has successfully forged the Chinese path to modernization,discovered the principle of Chinese modernization corresponding to European principles,and created a new form of human advancement with"Chinese ethos",i.e.,the Chinese form of modern civilization.The Chinese form of modern civilization has reconstructed the logic of power between capital and the people,balanced the dual values of progress and justice,broken through the traditional pattern of center and periphery,reshaped the tension between the material and the spiritual,and rebuilt the value relationship between human beings and nature.It is a brand-new form of modern civilization in the 21st century,and a new type of civilization with the characteristics of dialectics,integration,superposition,and self-reflexivity.The Chinese statement of modernity will surely lead the enhancement of human spirit with the power of thought and participate in the construction of a new world order with a higher level of human civilization.
