Case Characteristics Analysis of 16410 Patients with Acupuncture Consultation
Objective To identify the characteristics of acupuncture consultation cases in the Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University,and to provide the thoughts and directions for the development of acupuncture discipline in general hospitals.Methods The consultation records and patient-related information of the acupuncture department from January 1,2016 to December 31,2021 were collected through the hospital information management system,and the general situation,primary disease and system of the consultation patients were statistically analyzed.Results In the almost 6 years,the acupuncture and moxibustion department received a total of 16 410 patients with 25 566 consultation applications,of which 13 716 cases were treated.The primary diseases involved 505 diseases of 19 systems.The circulatory,digestive,and neurological system diseases ranked in the top 3,accounting for 69.2%,and only 7 diseases had more than one consultation per week.The top 10 diseases of the year were dominated by cerebrovascular disease and acute abdomen,and neurological and gastrointestinal symptoms were the main reasons for consultation.Conclusion The coverage of acupuncture consultation cases is wide but uneven,and the dominant diseases are relatively few and concentrated.
