Randomized Controlled Trial of Treating Poor Ovarian Response Infertility by Pi Strengthening Shen Tonifying Method
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Pi strengthening Shen tonifying method(PSSTM)in the treatment of poor ovarian response(POR)infertility by simultaneously participating in the entire process of in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer(IVF-ET).Methods Eighty POR patients were randomly assigned to a treatment group and a control group,40 cases in each group.Suitable controlled ovarian hyperstimulation(COH)was developed in patients of the control group based on different patients'conditions.On this basis,patients in the treatment group used PSSTM in three stages to participate in synchronous staging and added food therapy.(1)Before entry into the COH process again after IVF-ET failure,"tonifying Shen strengthening Pi,protecting the ovarian eggs,and nourishing the bubbles"during the non-menstrual period.(2)After entry into the COH,strengthening Pi tonifying Shen to help follicle growth.(3)After transplantation strengthening Pi assisting the endometrium,strengthening Shen preventing miscarriage.Levels of basic follicle stimulating hormone(bFSH)and anti-Mülerian hormone(AMH),antral follicle count(AFC),number of retrieved eggs,number of zygote,number of transferable embryos,Chinese medicine syndrome scores,and pregnancy outcome were compared between the two groups before and after treatment.Results bFSH level and Chinese medicine syndrome scores decreased more significantly in the treatment group after treatment than before treatment(P＜0.01).AMH level significantly increased(P＜0.01),AFC and the number of retrieved eggs,zygote,transferable embryos increased(P＜0.01).AFC and number of fertilized eggs increased in the control group(P＜0.01,P＜0.05).Compared with the control group after treatment,bFSH and Chinese medicine syndrome scores decreased more significantly(P＜0.01),number of transferable embryos increased more significantly(P＜0.01).The clinical pregnancy rate increased,biochemical pregnancy rate decreased,but with insignificant difference(P＞0.05).Conclusion PSSTM simultaneously participated in the whole process of IVF-ET,improved the ovarian reserve function of POR patients,elevated the number of retrieved eggs/the number of zygote/the number of transferable embryos,and improved clinical symptoms.
