Clinical Study of Qingxin Formula on Prevention and Treatment of Novel Coronavirus Infection
Objective To summarize the efficacy of Qingxin Formula in the prevention and treatment of novel coronavirus infection in Fuzhou City,China.Methods A total of 1 141 COVID-19 patients who sought medical care at the Third People's Hospital affiliated to Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine between December 30,2022,and February 28,2023 were included in this study.Among them,525 patients received treatment with the Qingxin Formula(Qingxin Formula treatment group),and 616 patients received conventional treatment(conventional treatment group).Patients received Chinese medicine status identification and corresponding drug treatments.General patient information,symptoms before and after treatment,and disease progression data were collected for statistical analysis.Results The general results of this study showed that more young women were infected with a novel coronavirus(P<0.05),and the number of patients with smoking history[75 cases(14.29%)]and diabetes history[39 cases(7.43%)]in the Qingxin treatment group was higher than that in the conventional treatment group(P<0.05).Fever(70.20%),cough(65.99%),fatigue(53.55%),chills(51.27%)and muscle aches(49.96%)were the most frequent symptoms in all patients.Compared with conventional treatment,Qingxin Formula could significantly improve the symptoms of sputum and runny nose;and shorten the course of disease in patients with novel coronavirus infection(P<0.01,P<0.05).Even if the novel coronavirus infected patients had a history of smoking and diabetes,Qingxin Formula still showed an effect of prevention and treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion The Qingxin Formula has shown significant therapeutic effects in the prevention and treatment of novel coronavirus infections in Fuzhou City,and is suitable for the whole-cycle of novel coronavirus infection and personalized dynamic prevention and treatment.
