Effect of mindfulness-based stress reduction combined with moderate exercise on the rehabilitation of patients with ankylosing spondylitis
Objective To discuss the effect of mindfulness-based stress reduction combined with moderate exercise on the rehabilitation of patients with ankylosing spondylitis. Methods According to the random number table method,a total of 118 patients with ankylosing spondylitis admitted to the Rheumatology and Immunology Department of Huizhou Central People's Hospital from April 2021 to April 2023 were divided into a control group and an observation group, with 59 patients in each group. The control group received routine intervention, while the observation group received mindfulness-based stress reduction combined with moderate exercise intervention based on routine intervention, and the intervention effects of the two groups were compared. Results After one month of intervention, the occipital wall distance and finger ground distance in the observation group were smaller than those in the control group, and the Schober test distance and chest range of motion in the observation group increased compared to the control group, and the above indicators in both groups improved compared to admission(all P<0.05).After one month of intervention, the scores of Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Functional Index in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the scores of Short Form-36 Health Survey in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(all P<0.05),and the above scores in both groups were better than those at admission(all P<0.05).Conclusion Mindfulness-based stress reduction combined with moderate exercise can help improve spinal range of motion, physical function, and quality of life in patients with ankylosing spondylitis.
