Application effect of acupoint massage combined with ginger juice buccal administration in patients with atrial fibrillation undergoing radiofrequency ablation
Objective To explore the effect of acupoint massage combined with ginger juice buccal administration on nausea and vomiting caused by esophageal injury in patients with atrial fibrillation treated by radiofrequency ablation.Methods According to the random number table method,a total of 112 patients with atrial fibrillation admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University from April 2021 to April 2022 were divided into a control group and an observation group using a random number table method,with 56 patients in each group.The control group received routine care and ginger juice buccal administration,while the observation group received acupoint massage based on routine care and ginger juice buccal administration.The severity of nausea and vomiting,sleep quality,and quality of life before and after intervention were compared between the two groups,as well as the incidence of adverse events within 2 weeks of intervention.Results After 2 weeks of intervention,the scores of all dimensions(nausea,retching,and vomiting)of the Chinese version of Index of Nausea and Vomiting and Retching scale,as well as the scores of all dimensions and total scores of the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index scale in both groups decreased compared to before intervention(all P<0.05),and the above scores were lower in the observation group than in the control group(all P<0.05).Within 2 weeks after surgery,the total incidence of adverse events in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).After 2 weeks of intervention,the scores of all dimensions of the Atrial Fibrillation Effect on Quality-of-life scale in both groups increased compared to before intervention(all P<0.05),and the above scores were higher in the observation group than in the control group(all P<0.05).Conclusion Acupoint massage combined with ginger juice buccal administration can alleviate symptoms such as nausea and vomiting related to esophageal injury in patients with atrial fibrillation after radiofrequency ablation.At the same time,it can reduce the occurrence of postoperative adverse events and improve the quality of sleep and life of patients.
