Application of nutritional assessment combined with specialized integrated dietary guidance in patients with heart failure and diabetes mellitus
Objective To explore the effect of nutritional assessment combined with specialized integrated dietary guidance on the condition of heart failure patients with diabetes mellitus. Methods Ninety-eight patients with heart failure and diabetes mellitus who were admitted to Wuhan Asia Heart Hospital were selected as the study subjects. They were enrolled from August 2021 to July 2022.The grouping method was random number table method. The control group(49 cases)received specialized integrated dietary guidance, while the observation group(49 cases)received nutritional assessment combined with specialized integrated dietary guidance. The intervention effect of the two groups was compared. Results In both groups, the fasting blood glucose and 2-h postprandial blood glucose after 1 week and 1 month of intervention decreased compared with those before intervention, and the glycosylated hemoglobin after 1 month of intervention also decreased compared with that before intervention(all P<0.05).The various blood glucose levels of the observation group were lower than those of the control group at the same time point(all P<0.05).After 1 month of intervention, the levels of transferrin and albumin in both groups increased compared with those before intervention(all P<0.05).The impact and anxiety scores of the Adjusted Diabetes-Specific Quality of Life Scale in both groups were lower than those before intervention, and the satisfaction score was higher than that before intervention(all P<0.05).The above indicators and scores of the observation group were better than those of the control group(all P<0.05).After 3 months of intervention, the stroke volume of both groups was greater than that before intervention. The N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide level was lower than that before intervention. The 6-min walk test was longer than that before intervention(all P<0.05).All cardiac function indicators in the observation group were better than those in the control group(all P<0.05).Conclusion Nutritional assessment combined with specialized integrated dietary guidance for patients with heart failure and diabetes mellitus can help them better control the blood glucose and improve their nutritional status, cardiac function, and quality of life.
