Effect of transcranial magnetic stimulation combined with rehabilitation training on frozen gait function in patients with Parkinson's disease
Objective To explore the effect of transcranial magnetic stimulation combined with rehabilitation training on frozen gait function in Parkinson's disease(PD)patients. Methods The clinical data of 80 PD patients admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University from March 2020 to June 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. They were grouped according to different nursing plans.Patients who received routine treatment combined with rehabilitation training were included in the control group(40 cases),while patients who received the intervention plan of the control group and the transcranial magnetic stimulation were included in the observation group(40 cases). The changes of frozen gait function, balance ability, quality of life, and cognitive function were compared between the two groups before intervention and after 3 months of intervention. Results After 1 and 3 months of intervention, both groups had faster walking speed, greater step length, and shorter Timed Up and Go Test time when compared with those before intervention, and the above changes after 3 months of intervention were better than those after 1 month of intervention(all P<0.05).The above changes in the observation group were superior to those in the control group after 1 and 3 months of intervention(all P<0.05).After 1 and 3 months of intervention, the scores of the Berg Balance Scale, the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, and the Mini-Mental State Examination in both groups were higher than those before intervention, and the score of the 39-item Parkinson's Disease Questionnaire was lower than that before intervention. The above scale scores after 3 months of intervention were better than those after1 month of intervention(all P<0.05).The above scale scores of the observation group were superior to those of the control group after 1 and 3 months of intervention(all P<0.05).Conclusion Transcranial magnetic stimulation combined with rehabilitation training can improve the frozen gait function, balance ability, and quality of life of PD patients, and promote the recovery of cognitive function.
