Effect of comprehensive nursing on adverse symptoms and rehabilitation of patients with epilepsy after brain tumor surgery
Objective To explore the effect of comprehensive nursing on adverse symptoms and rehabilitation of patients with epilepsy after brain tumor surgery. Methods A total of 102 patients with epilepsy after brain tumor surgery admitted to Tongji Hospital,Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology from January 2021 to February 2023 were selected as the study subjects. They were divided into a control group and an observation group according to a random number table method, with 51 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing, and the observation group received comprehensive nursing. The EEG indicator, rehabilitation effect, psychological state, sleep quality and incidence of adverse symptoms were compared between the two groups. Results The time of getting out of bed after operation in the observation group was earlier than that in the control group, the total hospitalization time was shorter than that in the control group, and the total incidence of adverse symptoms was lower than that in the control group(all P<0.05).Compared with before intervention, after 1 month and 2 months of intervention, the EEG indicators(epileptiform discharge, number of involved leads),as well as the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)scores of both groups were better than those before intervention(all P<0.05).The epileptiform discharge and number of involved leads,SAS,SDS and PSQI scores of the observation group were all better than those of the control group during the same period(all P<0.05).Conclusion Comprehensive nursing can improve the EEG indicators, sleep quality and psychological state of patients with epilepsy after brain tumor surgery, reduce the incidence of adverse symptoms, and its rehabilitation effect is significant.
