Effect of Rosenthal effect combined with Orem self-care on adolescent idiopathic scoliosis
Objective To explore the intervention effect of Rosenthal effect combined with Orem self-care in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis(AIS).Methods A total of 96 AIS patients who underwent surgical treatment at the 910th Hospital of Joint Logistics Support Force of Chinese People's Liberation Army from May 2021 to October 2022 were selected and divided into a control group(48 cases)and a nursing group(48 cases)using a random number table method. The coping styles and other indicators of the two groups were compared. Results At discharge and 3 months after discharge, both groups had higher positive coping scores in the Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire(SCSQ)compared to admission, lower negative coping scores in SCSQ and Oswestry Disability Index scores compared to admission, and lower Cobb angles compared to admission(all P<0.05).The above scores and angles in the nursing group were better than those in the control group during the same period(all P<0.05).After 3 months of discharge, the scores of six dimensions in the Health Promoting Lifestyle Profile-Ⅱ in both groups were higher than those at admission(all P<0.05),and the above scores in the nursing group were higher than those in the control group(all P<0.05).Conclusion Implementing Rosenthal effect combined with Orem self-care for AIS patients can significantly improve their disease coping styles, significantly enhance their health behavior levels, and effectively promote the recovery of spinal function.
