Application of palliative medical care model in advanced cancer patients
Objective To analyze the effect of palliative medical care model on the improvement of psychological state and life beliefs of advanced cancer patients. Methods Eighty-two advanced cancer patients admitted to China-Japan Friendship Hospital from May 2021 to March 2023 were recruited. They were assigned into the observation group and the control group via drawing lots, each with 41 cases. The control group received routine care for 3 months, while the observation group received palliative medical care for 3 months. The psychological state, life beliefs, nursing quality, and incidence of accidental injuries were compared between the two groups. Results Compared with the Symptom Checklist-90(SCL-90)scores before nursing, the scores of both groups decreased after 1 and 3 months of nursing(all P<0.05).Compared with the Herth Hope Index(HHI)scores before nursing, the scores of both groups improved after 1 and 3 months of nursing(all P<0.05).After 1 and 3 months of nursing, the observation group was superior to the control group in terms of the SCL-90 and HHI scores(all P<0.05).After 3 months of nursing, the nursing quality scores such as nursing attitude, nursing ability, and basic guidance scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The total incidence of accidental injuries in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions The implementation of palliative medical care model has achieved good application advantages in advanced cancer patients, which can effectively improve their psychological state, enhance their life beliefs, and help reduce the probability of accidental injuries.
