Objective To explore the application value of nursing of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine in patients undergoing bladder tumor surgery. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 82 bladder tumor patients who underwent surgical treatment at the Affiliated Hospital of Jiangnan University from June 2020 to December 2022.They were assigned into a control group(n=42)and an observation group(n=40)according to different nursing methods. The control group received routine Western medicine nursing, while the observation group additionally received traditional Chinese medicine nursing. The incidence of postoperative complications, postoperative recovery, and quality of life of patients in the two groups were compared. Results The actual incidence of complications such as infections, bleeding, and bladder spasms in the observation group was 5.00%,which was lower than 21.43%in the control group(P<0.05).The time of bladder flushing fluid turning clear and hematuria disappearance in the observation group was earlier than that in the control group, and the duration of catheter indwelling and hospitalization was shorter than that in the control group(all P<0.05).At discharge and 3 months after surgery, the scores of the Karnofsky Performance Status(KPS)and Quality of Life Questionnaire(QOL)in both groups were higher than those before surgery, and the observation group had higher scores than the control group. The scores of the Zubrod Performance Status(ZPS)in both groups were lower than those before surgery, and the observation group had lower scores than the control group. The above comparisons were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion The nursing of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine has a positive impact on reducing the incidence of postoperative complications, shortening the postoperative recovery time, and improving the quality of life of patients undergoing bladder tumor surgery.
