Application effect of yin-yang regulating moxibustion combined with self-management in climacteric obese patients
Objective To explore the intervention effect of yin-yang regulating moxibustion combined with self-management in climacteric obese patients, and to evaluate the effect of this method on the body weight of patients. Methods Sixty climacteric obese patients who received treatment at Hubei Provincial Hospital of TCM from January 2021 to December 2022 were selected as the research subjects.Assignment was made using the random number table method:a control group(n=30)and an observation group(n=30).The control group adopted self-management,while the observation group adopted yin-yang regulating moxibustion combined with self-management.The physical examination indicators, quality of life, and physical symptom scores were compared between the two groups. Results After 12 weeks of intervention, the values of physical examination indicators(body weight, waist circumference, body fat,and hip circumference)in the observation group were all smaller than those in the control group(all P<0.05),and the physical examination indicators of both groups were better than those before intervention(all P<0.05).After 12 weeks of intervention, the scores of various dimensions of the Impact of Weight on Quality of Life(IWQOL)in both groups were lower than those before intervention(all P<0.05).The observation group achieved lower IWQOL scores when compared with the control group(all P<0.05).After 12 weeks of intervention, the scores of physical symptoms such as excessive sebum secretion on the forehead in both groups decreased compared with those before intervention(all P<0.05),and the observation group had lower scores than the control group(all P<0.05).Conclusions Yin-yang regulating moxibustion combined with self-management can regulate the physical fitness of climacteric obese patients, improve their physical examination indicators, and reduce the impact of obesity on daily life.
