Application of health education and walking training in the continuous care for patients with atrial fibrillation and heart failure
Objective To explore the application effect of health education combined with walking training in the continuous care for patients with atrial fibrillation and heart failure. Methods A total of 98 patients with atrial fibrillation and heart failure admitted to Changzhou NO.2 People's Hospital affiliated to Nanjing Medical University from August 2020 to August 2021 were selected as the research subjects.Their clinical data were retrospectively analyzed and they were divided into two groups with 49 cases in each group based on different nursing intervention plans. The control group received routine nursing and discharge guidance, while the observation group received continuous care guidance through health education and walking training. The application effects were compared between the two groups. Results After 6 months of discharge, the 6-minute walk test distance of patients with grade Ⅱ and grade Ⅲ heart function in the observation group was farther than that of the control group, and the above distance of patients with grade Ⅱ and grade Ⅲ heart function in the two groups was farther than that at admission, with significant statistical differences(all P<0.05).After 6 months of discharge, the left ventricular ejection fraction of both groups increased compared to admission, and the left ventricular end-diastolic diameter and left ventricular end-systolic diameter decreased compared to admission. The scores of the Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire decreased in all aspects compared to admission. Moreover, the above indicators and scores of the observation group were better than those of the control group during the same period, with significant statistical differences(all P<0.05).After 3 and 6 months of discharge, compared with the control group, the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale-8 scores of the observation group were higher(all P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of health education and walking training can help improve exercise tolerance and cardiac function indicators in patients with atrial fibrillation and heart failure, and has positive significance in improving medication compliance and quality of life.
