Effect of mindfulness-based stress reduction combined with early postoperative activities on rehabilitation quality of patients undergoing laparoscopic radical surgery of liver cancer
Objective To study the effect of mindfulness-based stress reduction combined with early postoperative activities on the rehabilitation quality of liver cancer patients undergoing laparoscopic radical surgery. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 522 liver cancer patients who underwent laparoscopic radical surgery at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Naval Medical University from October 2021 to September 2022.They were divided into two groups based on different nursing methods, with 261 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing, while the observation group received mindfulness-based stress reduction combined with early postoperative activity intervention on the basis of the control group. The intervention effects of the two groups were compared. Results On the 1st day after surgery, the levels of cortisol, adrenocorticotropic hormone, and aldosterone in both groups increased compared with admission, but the observation group had lower levels than the control group. The differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The postoperative recovery time of bowel sounds, first anal exhaust time, defecation time, and eating time in the observation group were earlier than those in the control group, and the hospitalization time was shorter than that in the control group(all P<0.05).The observation group had a lower level of vasoactive intestinal peptide and higher levels of serum gastrin and motilin compared with the control group on the 3rd day after surgery, and both groups had better levels compared with admission. The differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).At 1 month after surgery, the scores of various items of the quality of life scale for liver cancer patients were higher in the observation group than in the control group, and both groups had higher scores compared with admission, with statistical differences(all P<0.05).Conclusion Mindfulness-based stress reduction combined with early postoperative activities can help alleviate the postoperative stress response of liver cancer patients undergoing laparoscopic radical surgery, accelerate the recovery of gastrointestinal function, shorten the hospitalization time, and improve the quality of life.
