Application of case management combined with motivational interviewing in perioperative period of patients undergoing hip replacement
Objective To investigate the application effect of case management combined with motivational interviewing in the perioperative period of patients undergoing hip replacement. Methods A total of 94 patients who underwent hip replacement were recruited from the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University between January 2021 and January 2022.They were divided into two groups by drawing lots. The 47 patients in the control group carried out routine nursing, and the 47 patients in the observation group carried out case management combined with motivational interviewing based on the nursing method of the control group. The postoperative bedridden time and other indicators of the two groups were compared. Results The postoperative bedridden time and postoperative hospital stay in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, and the total treatment cost was less than that in the control group(all P<0.05).At 1 and 3 months after surgery, the scores of the Numerical Rating Scale in both groups were lower than those at admission, and the Harris Hip Scores, task self-efficacy scores, and coping self-efficacy scores were higher than those at admission(all P<0.05).The observation group was superior to the control group(all P<0.05).The total satisfaction rate of nursing in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Case management combined with motivational interviewing in the perioperative period of patients undergoing hip replacement can effectively accelerate the postoperative rehabilitation process, reduce the medical costs, improve the level of self-efficacy,relieve the hip pain, promote the recovery of hip function and help to increase the satisfaction rate of nursing.
