Application value of health education of action research theory combined with traditional Chinese and western medicine nursing strategy in stroke patients
Objective To explore the application value of health education of action research theory combined with traditional Chinese and western medicine nursing strategy in stroke patients. Methods A total of 116 stroke patients who visited the Department of Geriatrics at Xuzhou City Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from December 2020 to December 2022 were selected as the research subjects. The patients were divided into two groups(58 in each group)using a random number table. The control group was given routine nursing, while the observation group was additionally given health education of action research theory combined with traditional Chinese and western medicine nursing strategy. The serum indicator levels, neurological function, limb function,self-care ability, and nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results After 1 and 2 months of intervention, the serum brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF)level of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group, and the serum cortisol(COR)level was significantly lower than that of the control group(all P<0.05).The National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS)score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the Fugl-Meyer Assessment(FMA)and Activity of Daily Living Scale(ADL)scores were higher than those of the control group(all P<0.05).The above two indicators and three scores of the two groups were better than those before intervention(all P<0.05).After 2 months of intervention, the total score and the various item scores of nursing satisfaction in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(all P<0.05).Conclusion Health education of action research theory combined with traditional Chinese and western medicine nursing strategy can significantly improve the neurological function of stroke patients, promote their limb function recovery, and enhance their self-care ability and nursing satisfaction.
