Application of graded nutrition nursing based on prognostic nutritional index in patients with gastric cancer undergoing chemotherapy
Objective To explore the implementation effect and value of graded nutrition nursing based on prognostic nutritional index(PNI)in gastric cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of gastric cancer patients who received chemotherapy at Fujian Cancer Hospital from October 2020 to March 2022.A total of 80 patients were selected.Among them,41 patients who received routine nursing were selected as the control group, and 39 patients who received graded nutrition nursing based on PNI were selected as the observation group. The nutritional indicators, immune function, and adverse reactions of the two groups were compared. Results After 1 and 3 months of intervention, the PNI of both groups increased compared to before intervention, while the serum total protein, albumin, prealbumin, and hemoglobin levels,as well as immunoglobulin A,immunoglobulin G,and immunoglobulin M levels, decreased compared to before intervention(all P<0.05).The PNI,nutritional indicators, and immune indicators in the observation group were all higher than those in the control group at the same time(all P<0.05).The overall incidence of adverse reactions(such as leukopenia, oral mucosal inflammation, etc.)in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Implementing PNI based graded nutrition nursing in gastric cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy can effectively improve their nutritional status and immune function, and reduce the incidence of adverse reactions.
