Effect of wrist-ankle acupuncture combined with systematic nursing on pain symptoms and comfort in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis and nasal polyps
Objective To explore the application effect of wrist-ankle acupuncture combined with systematic nursing in the surgical treatment of patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps(CRSwNP)patients. Methods A total of 78 patients undergoing CRSwNP surgery admitted to the Third People's Hospital of Changzhou from January to December 2022 were randomly divided into two groups using a random number table method, with 39 patients in each group. Both groups underwent surgical treatment, with the control group receiving routine care and the observation group receiving wrist-ankle acupuncture combined with systematic nursing. The rehabilitation status of the two groups was compared. Results At 72 hours after surgery, both groups had lower Visual Analogue Scale scores compared to 4 hours after surgery. After 7 days of nursing, the olfactory function scores,Self-Rating Anxiety Scale scores, and Self-Rating Depression Scale scores of both groups were lower than those before nursing, while the physiological,psychological,spiritual,socio-cultural,and environmental scores in the General Comfort Questionnaire were higher than those before nursing. In the above situations, the scores of the observation group were better than those of the control group, and the results showed statistical differences(all P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the observation group had a lower overall incidence of complications(nasal adhesion, cerebrospinal rhinorrhea, and nasal bleeding)(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of wrist-ankle acupuncture and systematic nursing can alleviate postoperative pain symptoms and negative emotions in CRSwNP patients, improve their physical and mental comfort, reduce the occurrence of complications, and contribute to the recovery of olfactory function.
