Application of health maintenance theory of traditional Chinese medicine in traditional Chinese medicine characteristic nursing strategy for patients with ischemic stroke
Objective To investigate the application effect of health maintenance theory of traditional Chinese medicine in traditional Chinese medicine characteristic nursing strategy for patients with ischemic stroke. Methods A total of 300 ischemic stroke patients who received treatment at Xuzhou City Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from July 2021 to August 2023 were selected as the research subjects. They were assigned to a control group ( 150 cases ) and an observation group (150 cases) using a random number table. The control group was given routine nursing method, while the observation group was given traditional Chinese medicine characteristic nursing strategy based on health maintenance theory of traditional Chinese medicine. The blood viscosity, upper limb muscle strength, and lower limb motor function of the two groups were compared before and after nursing. Results After 1 and 3 months of nursing, the observation group had lower whole blood viscosity at high shear rate and low shear rate,as well as lower scores on the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale compared with the control group. The observation group had higher scores on upper limb muscle strength, lower limb Fugl-Meyer Assessment,Berg Balance Scale,Stroke-Specific Quality of Life Scale, and Barthel Index (all P<0.05).All indicators of both groups were better than those before nursing, and the indicators after 3 months of nursing were better than those after 1 month of nursing ( all P<0.05 ).Conclusion Traditional Chinese medicine characteristic nursing strategy based on health maintenance theory of traditional Chinese medicine can effectively promote the recovery of body balance, muscle strength, and motor ability in patients with ischemic stroke, improve the neurological deficit and blood viscosity, and enhance the activities of daily living and quality of life.
