Research on Market Structure,Spatial Dependence and Conditional Convergence of Commercial Health Insurance
There are great regional differences in the development of commercial health insurance in China, which weakens the social security function of commercial health insurance. The important influencing factor is the unreasonable market structure.Using the inter provincial panel data from 2007 to 2019,we measures the competition index HHI of commercial health insurance market, and uses the spatial Durbin model to measure the impact of market structure on the conditional convergence of commercial health insurance. We find that:(1)there is a significant spatial dependence on the density and market structure of commercial health insurance in China.(2)After controlling the economic development level, social medical insurance development level, aging degree, education level and urbanization rate, the development level of commercial health insurance has conditional convergence, and the convergence rate is 9.854%.Among them,5.053%of the convergence rate is due to the local market structure, and 4.801%of the convergence rate is determined by the spatial spillover effect.(3)The improvement of market competition in this region can promote the conditional convergence in this region, but it has a negative impact on the conditional convergence in other regions. These conclusions provide policy enlightenment for balancing the regional development of commercial health insurance in China.
