Development,Challenges and Paths of Regionalization of Vocational and Technical Education in ASEAN Countries
Economic globalization leads to regionalization,while the regionalization of vocational and technical education as the field most closely related to the economy has gradually received attention.The regionalization of vocational and technical education in ASEAN countries has developed slowly,going through from national regionalization to trade regionalization,and to educational regionalization,and to regionalization of vocational and technical education.Nonetheless,the regionalization of vocational and technical education in ASEAN is not yet full-fledged.These issues influence the development process of the regionalization of vocational and technical education in Southeast Asia,including unbalanced economic development,great differences in vocational and technical education,diversity of ethnic culture,prominent contradiction for coordination of vocational education,and linguistic diversity of countries.With the help of Knight's FOPA model,paths for the development of regionalization of vocational and technical education in ASEAN are proposed,promoting the regionalization of vocational education through standards,managing the regionalization of vocational education through sectoral management,and coordinating the regionalization of vocational education through dialogue.
