On the Influencing Factors and Key Paths to Improve the Internationalization of Higher Vocational Education from the Perspective of Embeddedness——A Empirical Analysis Based on NCA and fsQCA
The internationalization of vocational education serves as a crucial driving force for facilitating the high-quality advancement of vocational education. This paper uses the embeddedness theory to construct a"Cognition-Institution-Resource-Relationship"framework and employs NCA and fsQCA methods to analyze the internationalization development of higher vocational education. The NCA test shows that increasing the internationalization level of higher vocational education is a result of multiple factors, with embedded cognition being a necessary condition.Configuration analysis reveals three types of models for developing higher vocational education:cognition-resource driven type,cognition-relationship driven type, and resource-dominant supportive type.A comparison among provinces indicates that transcending reliance on resources embedded and strengthening the embeddedness of cognition is the key to promote the internationalization process. It is suggested that eastern provinces leverage their geographical advantage, while the central and western provinces focus on local characteristics to develop high-quality internationalization of higher vocational education.
