Promoting the Integration of Vocational and General Education in the Construction of a Powerful Education Country:Implementation Status and Development Suggestions——Based on a Survey of 2600 Learners and Administrators Nationwide on Their Cognition,Willing
promoting the integration of vocational and general education is a key link in building a powerful education country.Based on the pilot practice of promoting vocational and general education integration,more than 2600 vocational school learners and administrators from 4 regions including Zhejiang,Jiangsu,Yunnan and Jilin were selected for research.The results showed that the current vocational and general education integration pilot practice is mainly carried out in vocational schools,mainly in the form of integration classes and comprehensive high schools,supported by regional policies;vocational and general education integration is regarded by learners as an educational choice secondly only to general high schools,and is widely regarded by learners and administrators as an important path to achieve their diverse development goals;the academic performance in the high school entrance examination is a core factor that affects learners'choice of educational path,and its main motivation lies in the pursuit of higher education;more than 50%learners choose vocational education as their secondary education diversion,and have a strong demand for professional practice courses;the pilot practice of integrating vocational and general education has achieved significant results in enhancing the attractiveness of vocational schools,but it also faces certain obstacles in teacher construction,educational resources,and system building.Based on the above conclusions,vocational and general education integration should adhere to the core value pursuit of providing outstanding opportunities for every learner,and establish a high-quality education system that is interconnected and conducive to the diverse development of learners;based on multi-level policy and institutional construction,establish a diverse support system for schools and learners;adhere to the type positioning of vocational education and explore a distinctive talent cultivation system that combines theoretical learning with professional practice.
