Objective To understand the current situation of diagnostic physicians in occupational disease diagnosis institutions in Sichuan province,and to provide reference for the management of diagnostic physicians in health administrative institutions.Methods The census method was used,a total of 159 diagnostic physicians from occupational disease diagnosis institutions registered in Sichuan Province in 2023 were statistically analyzed.A database was established by using Excel 2019 software to describe the age,professional title,education level,years of employment,types of practice,and qualifications obtained by diagnostic physicians.Results As of December 31st 2023,among the 159 diagnostic physicians in 30 occupational disease diagnosis institutions in Sichuan province,the highest proportion were those over 50 years old(45.92%),with associate high titles(51.57%)and undergraduate degrees(65.41%),and 20-29 years of experience(38.99%).Among them,82 were non disease control institutions,with ages over 50 years old 53.66%),associate high titles(54.88%),undergraduate degrees(62.20%),and 20-29 years of experience(39.02%),respectively.There were 77 individuals in disease control institutions,the highest proportion were 40-49 years(42.86%),with associate high professional titles(48.05%),a bachelor's degree(68.83%),and a working experience of 20-29 years(38.96%),respectively.In terms of practice categories,non disease control institutions had the highest proportion of clinical specialties(90.24%),and disease control institutions have the highest proportion of public health specialties(50.65%).In terms of diagnostic qualifications,obtaining Class 1 and Class 3 diagnostic qualifications accounted for the highest proportion(18.87%),with non disease control institutions having the highest proportion of Class 3 diagnostic qualifications(19.52%)and disease control institutions having the highest proportion of Class 1 diagnostic qualifications(20.78%).Conclusions The aging of diagnostic physicians and incomplete diagnostic qualifications in occupational disease diagnosis institutions in Sichuan Province.It is recommended that the health administrative department strengthen the management of diagnostic physicians in occupational disease diagnosis institutions,supervise the establishment of a reasonable age structure of diagnostic physician teams in occupational disease diagnosis institutions,by relevant training,the scope of diagnostic physician qualifications should be expanded and the diagnostic capabilities and quality should be improved.
