Epidemic characteristics and prevention and control strategies of syphilis in Fengxin County of Yichun City from 2014 to 2023
Objective To analyze the epidemic characteristics of syphilis in Fengxin County of Yichun City from 2014 to 2023,and to provide the evidence to improve the prevention and control measures of syphilis.Methods Data of syphilis cases and population with current address in Fengxin County of Yichun City during 2014 to 2023 were derived from China Disease Prevention and Control Information System.SPSS 20.0 software was used to analyze the prevalence trend of syphilis.Chi-square test was used for the difference of composition ratio between groups,and Chi-square trend test was used for comparison of incidence trend,the difference P<0.05 was considered statistically significant.Results From 2014 to 2023,a total of 999 cases of syphilis were reported in Fengxin County,with an average annual reported incidence of 33.48/105,with an average annual growth rate of 5.41%,showing an overall upward trend(x2trends=82.071,P<0.001).The majority of cases reported were recessive syphilis(84.18%),and the incidence was on the rise.The incidence of stage Ⅰ and stage Ⅱ syphilis showed a decreasing trend.The main area was Fengchuan town(34.23%).The reported incidence of women was slightly higher than that of men,but the average annual rate of incidence in men was higher than that in women.The high incidence age group was over 70 years old(22.92%),followed by 50-59 years old(18.22%)and 60-69 years old(17.32%).The reported incidence of syphilis in 40 years old people and above showed an increasing trend.They were mainly farmers(69.37%),and the annual growth rate of the number of cases of commercial services and retirees was the highest(14.93%and 16.65%,respectively).Conclusions The syphilis epidemic situation in Fengxin County of Yichun City is on the rise,and the publicity and detection of syphilis should be strengthened,and the standardized management of syphilis cases should be carried out to control the transmission of syphilis from the source.
