Objective To study the therapeutic effect of Yujiang Paidu Nasal Spray on acute sinusitis in rats.Methods The rat model of acute sinusitis was established by unilateral nasal cavity filling with an expansive sponge im-pregnated with Staphylococcus aureus solution.The modeling results were evaluated according to the acute sinusitis rating scale.The rats were divided into normal group,model group,Yujiang Paidu Nasal Spray group and positive drug(Mo-metasone Furoate Nasal Spray)group.The nasal lavage fluid of each group was collected for bacterial culture.The damage of nasal cilia in each group was observed by scanning electron microscope.The nasal mucosal lesions were detected by HE staining.The serum levels of TNF-a,IL-6 and IL-1β were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Re-al-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)and Western Blot were used to detect the expression of TNF-a,IL-6 and IL-1β in nasal mucosa of rats in each group.Results Compared with the model group,the growth of bacteria in the nasal cavity of rats in Yujiang Paidu Nasal Spray group was inhibited.The injury of nasal cilia and mucosa was significantly reduced.The levels of TNF-a,IL-6 and IL-1β in serum and nasal mucosa were significantly decreased(P<0.01).Conclusion Yujiang Paidu Nasal Spray is better than Mometasone furoate nasal spray in inhibiting the growth and reproduction of nasal bacteria,improving the damage of nasal cilia and the secretion of inflammatory factors in rats with acute sinusitis,and can be used as a treatment for acute sinusitis.
