Investigation of the current situation of myopia and the application of preventive and control measures among primary and sec-ondary school studentsin chengdu
Objective Investigate the current situation of myopia in primary and secondary school students and the application status of myopia prevention and control measures.Methods A total of 1624 parents of primary and secondary school students were randomly selected as survey subjects.A questionnaire was used to collect information on the students'gender,age,refractive status and application of myopia prevention and control measures for analysis.Results Among 1624 primary and secondary school students,the overall prevalence of myopia was 48.09％.With increasing age,the number of myopic individuals showed a gradual upward trend.Parents were not sufficiently aware of the health risks of myopia.68.04％of students did not take any preventive measures.After myopia,33.42％of students did not take any control measures.None of these prevention and control measures had achieved satisfactory results,and safety and effec-tiveness were the main factors influencing the choice.Conclusion The rate of myopia among primary and secondary school students was high,and the application of measures for myopia prevention and control was relatively poor.Current-ly,the effectiveness of myopia intervention measures has not reached the expected target.
