Glial cells play a key role in maintaining CNS homeostasis,and Müller cells,as the main neuroglial cells in the retina,have a major role in maintaining normal retinal structure and function.Damage to Müller cells leads to reti-nal dysfunction.In recent years,many studies have shown that whether retinal function is normal or not depends largely on Müller cells.This paper summarizes the role and related mechanisms of Müller cells in common fundus diseases in the past five years,in order to deeply understand the influence and value of Müller cells in common fundus diseases,and pro-vide new ideas for the research,screening,diagnosis and prevention of the pathogenesis of fundus diseases.
