Comparison of Photosynthesis Characteristics in Five Provenances of Mirabilis himalaica
Objective: To provide the theoretical basis for provenance selection,by comparing the photosynthesis characteristics of Mirabilis himalaica in five provenances in Tibet Autonomous Region (a:Gongbujiangda Apeicun,b:Langxian Laduoxiang,c:Sangrixian Zengqixiang,d:Zhalangxian Minzhulinsi,e:Langxian Zenongxiang). Methods:The seeds of M.himalaica from in different provenanceswere cultivated, chlorophyll and photosynthetic rate(Pn),transportation rate(Tr),intercellular CO2 concentration (Ci) were measured after period of blooming by using LI-6400 portable photosynthesis system. Results:The Pn of a,b and c showed a single peak curve and indicated significant high photosynthetic efficiency characteristics, while the Pn of d and e showed a double peak curve and indicated low photosynthetic efficiency characteristics. The light compensation point of a was lower than others, while the light saturation point higher than others. It indicated the light energy utilization rate of a was strongest.CO2 saturation point of e was significantly lower than others, while CO2 compensation point was higher. It indicated its ability to take advantage of CO2 is weak. Conclusion:Photosynthetic physiological parameters of M.himalaica in different provenances have significant differences, and the photosynthetic capacity showed:a>b>c>d>e.
