Objective:To study skin-whitening mechanism of Margarita liquid by in vitro melanoma cells tests.Methods:The skin-whitening activities were evaluated by measuring human melanocytes melanin synthesis inhibition activity,and Real-time PCR (RT-PCR)method was further used to evaluate the expression of microphthalmia-associated transcription factor (MITF),tyrosinase-related protein 1 (TRP1) and Tyrosinase(TYR)mRNA.Results:0.25%,0.5% and 0.75% concentration of Margarita liquid could significantly decreased human melanocytes melanin synthesis,all the three concentrations of Margarita liquid could decrease the expression of TRP1 mRNA,and 0.25% concentration of Margarita liquid could decrease the expression of TYR、TRP1 and MITF mRNA.Conclusion:Margarita liquid was detected to have skin-whitening activity through in vitro Human melanoma cells tests,it could be used as a skin-whitening cosmetic additive.
