Examination and Analysis of"Current Dendrobii Caulis Originated from Shixing"recorded in Annotations to the Compendium of Materia Medica
Dendrobii Caulis is a valuable Chinese medicinal material in China.Annotations to the Compendium of Materia Medica records:"Current Dendrobii Caulis originated from Shixing.It was formed on the stone and was thin.When cultivated with Sanghui Decotion,its color is golden,and those look like grasshopper thighs are the best."In this paper,the systematic examination and analysis of the birth and evolution of the administrative system of prefectures and counties in Chinese history dynasties,the administrative areas of Shixing County,and the content involving the origin of Dendrobii Caulis,growth environment,texture,color,processing,and quality characteristics in works of materia medica were conducted.The results show that the"Shixin"mentioned in Annotations to the Compendium of Materia Medica refers to"Shixing County",and its administrative areas include Dayu County in Ganzhou City,Jiangxi Province,Qujiang District,Zhenjiang District,Wujiang District,Renhua County,Ruyuan County,Shixing County,Wengyuan County in Shaoguan City,Lechang City,and Nanxiong City in Guangdong Province,as well as Yangshan County,Lianshan County,and Liannan County in Qingyuan City,Lianzhou City,and Yingde City.It is speculated that the plants in the Dendrobium genus conforming to the feature of"formed on the stone,with a golden color and grasshopper thigh shape,and distributed in Shixing"are Dendrobii Caulis.
