Compatibility Rules and Quality Control of Health Food Containing Chinese Medicines Derived from Mulberry
Objective:To explore the compatibility rules of health food containing Chinese medicines derived from mulberry and analyze the quality control status. Methods:A library of health food products containing Chinese medicines derived from mulberry was established. The frequency, nature, taste, meridian tropism, efficacy, and association rules of the Chinese medicines were analyzed to summarize the compatibility rules. The quality control status was analyzed based on the available articles. Results:The health food products containing Chinese medicines derived from mulberry were dominated by the Mori Fructus-based products with the effects of enhancing immunity and relieving physical fatigue and the Mori Folium-based products with the functions of maintaining the blood glucose level. In the Mori Fructus-based health food products for enhancing immunity, the representative combination was Mori Fructus-Polygonati Rhizoma-Astragali Radix. In the Mori Fructus-based health food products for relieving physical fatigue, the representative combination was Mori Fructus-Dioscoreae Rhizoma-Rubi Fructus. In the Mori Folium-based health food products for maintaining the blood glucose level, the representative combination was Mori Folium-Polygonati Odorati Rhizoma-Dioscoreae Rhizoma. The functional components in the three types of products all involved total saponins, crude polysaccharides, and total flavonoids. Conclusion:The compatibility rules of the health food products containing Chinese medicines derived from mulberry basically conforms to the theories of traditional Chinese medicine and modern medicine. The findings can provide ideas for product development.Further research is needed regarding the quality control components, and the development of health food based on Mori Cortex and Mori Ramulus needs to be strengthened.
