Clinical Efficacy of Huiyang Tongmai Decoction in Treatment of Lower Extremity Atherosclerosis Obliterans Due to Cold-dampness Blocking Collaterals
Objective:To explore the clinical efficacy of Huiyang Tongmai Decoction in the treatment of lower extremity atherosclerosis obliterans(LEASO)with syndrome of cold-dampness blocking collaterals. Methods:Eighty LEASO patients with spleen and kidney yang deficiency syndrome were divided into two groups according to the random number table method. The control group was given beraprost sodium orally(40 μg,tid),and the treatment group was treated with Huiyang Tongmai Decoction in addition to the control group, with a 3-month observation period.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome scores,endothelin-1(ET-1),nitric oxide(NO),ankle-brachial index(ABI),transcutaneous oxygen partial pressure(TcPO2),and dorsalis pedis artery hemodynamic indicators were compared between the two groups. Results:The total clinical effective rate of the treatment group(90.00%)was higher than that of the control group(75.00%,P<0.05).After treatment, the TCM syndrome scores in both groups were lower than those before treatment(P<0.05),with the treatment group showing greater improvement than the control group(P<0.05).ET-1 levels in both groups decreased after treatment(P<0.05),and the treatment group had lower levels than the control group(P<0.05).Levels of NO,ABI,TcPO2,and dorsalis pedis artery hemodynamic indicators increased in both groups after treatment(P<0.05),with the treatment group showing greater improvement than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Huiyang Tongmai Decoction can reduce symptoms of ischemic limbs, relieve intermittent claudication, increase ABI and TcPO2,and improve blood supply to the foot in patients with LEASO.
