Analysis and Survey of Mineral Chinese Medicine Resources in Northwest China
Objective:To investigate,analyze,and summarize the species,distribution,and application status of mineral Chinese medicine(MCM)resources in northwest China(including Shaanxi Province,Gansu Province,Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region,Qinghai Province,and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region)and to provide a reference for the sustainable utilization of MCM resources in the northwest region.Methods:A combination of literature review and field research was used in this survey,and all collected data were summarized and analyzed.Results:A total of 103 species of MCM were identified in this survey(92 species from the literature review and 44 species from field research).The changes in MCM resources were analyzed and summarized,including the application history of 33 species which were distributed locally.There was a phenomenon of both exclusive and shared use of MCM resources among different ethnic groups,including 24 varieties of traditional Chinese medicine that are commonly used in conjunction with Mongolian medicine,Tibetan medicine,and Uyghur medicine.Conclusion:This study identifies the species and distribution of MCM resources in the northwest region.At the same time,it reveals the reasons for changes in MCM resources and an overview of the application of MCM resources among different ethnic groups and provides rational suggestions.
