Periosteal distraction combined with growth factors therapy for diabetic foot ulcers
Objective In order to evaluate the efficacy of tibial periosteal distraction combined with human epi-dermal growth factors(50 000 IU/10 g)in the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers,we conducted this study, hoping to provide a reference for doctors in the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers. Methods A retrospective study was con-ducted on 30 patients with diabetic foot ulcers treated with tibial periosteal distraction combined with human epi-dermal growth factors(50 000 IU/10 g)from January 2021 to October 2023.The effect of the treatment was e-valuated by comparing the blood oxygen saturation of affected lateral toe, full skin temperature, ankle brachial index and wound healing of diabetic foot before and after surgery. Results The blood oxygen saturation of affected lateral toe was(79.97±1.44)%before surgery and(92.32±1.70)%after surgery,we found that after tibial periosteal distraction combined with human epidermal growth factors(50 000 IU/10 g)treatment, the blood oxy-gen saturation of affected lateral toe was significantly improved(P<0.05).The preoperative skin temperature was(28.05±0.63)℃ and the postoperative skin temperature was(30.83±0.70)℃.The postoperative skin temperature of patients with diabetic foot ulcers was significantly increased after treatment(P<0.05).The pre-operative ankle brachial index was 0.65±0.04,and the postoperative ankle brachial index was 0.73±0.02.After treatment, the ankle brachial index of patients with diabetic foot ulcers improved significantly(P<0.05).After treatment, the wound healing rate of patients with diabetic foot ulcers was 93.33%.Conclusion Tibial periosteal distraction combined with human epidermal growth factors(50 000 IU/10 g)was effective in the treat-ment of diabetic foot ulcers. It is worth popularizing and applying in the clinical treatment of diabetic foot ulcers.
