Clinical status and perspectives on the early management of proliferative scarring
Proliferative scarring is a pathological condition resulting from abnormal wound healing. Its charac-teristics include persistent local inflammation and excessive collagen deposition, which can lead to cosmetic is-sues,contractural deformities, functional impairment, and psychological distress.Although numerous clinical treatments for proliferative scarring are currently available, the underlying mechanisms of its formation remain in-adequately understood.Consequently, existing treatment strategies, while diverse (encompassing physical thera-py,phototherapy,pharmacological therapy, and surgical interventions),often fail to yield satisfactory outcomes. Recently, there has been a growing consensus among clinicians regarding the importance of early comprehensive intervention employing multiple approaches. This review systematically examines the current state of clinical studies focused on the early prevention and treatment of proliferative scarring, aiming to provide clinical evidence to support the implementation of comprehensive early prevention and treatment strategies.
